—How it works
From quiz to prescription — physician-guided, no waiting room
Joining Vitality means investing in a structured medical weight loss program, not a prescription. Your plan includes nutrition coaching, behavior change support, metabolic assessment, and ongoing provider access. For eligible members, a Vitality physician may determine that GLP-1 medication is an appropriate part of your program. If prescribed, it is handled through our licensed pharmacy partners and is separate from your program enrollment. Vitality is not a pharmacy and does not dispense or resell medications.

—FAQ
Common Questions
Our asynchronous consultation model was designed for people who can't take a Tuesday at 2pm for a weight loss appointment.
Do I really not need to see a doctor in person?
Correct. Vitality operates as an async telehealth platform. You complete an intake questionnaire, a licensed provider reviews it, and if appropriate, issues a prescription. All of this happens without a scheduled video call or in-person visit. Some states have specific requirements — your provider will let you know if anything additional is needed.
What medications do you prescribe?
Our licensed providers prescribe GLP-1 medications — including semaglutide (the active ingredient in Ozempic/Wegovy) and tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Mounjaro/Zepbound) — when clinically appropriate for your situation. Your provider will determine the right medication and dosing protocol based on your health history and goals. Treatment starts at a low dose (typically 0.25mg/week for semaglutide) and is titrated gradually to minimize side effects and optimize results.
Is this covered by insurance?
Vitality plans are not billed through insurance. Some patients use HSA/FSA funds to cover the cost — check with your plan administrator. We provide detailed receipts for reimbursement purposes if needed. Brand-name GLP-1 medications are covered by some insurance plans — we can provide documentation to support that process if you prefer to go that route.
How is this different from getting GLP-1 from my regular doctor?
A traditional doctor visit for GLP-1 often involves a referral, insurance pre-authorization, and weeks of waiting. Many primary care providers simply don't prescribe it. Vitality's async telehealth model is faster, more accessible, and removes the friction of scheduling — a licensed provider reviews your intake within 24 hours and your medication ships directly to your door. We also help eligible patients navigate manufacturer savings programs that can significantly reduce out-of-pocket costs.
What if the medication doesn't work for me?
GLP-1 medications work for the vast majority of patients who are appropriate candidates, but individual response varies. If you're not seeing results after 90 days, your provider will review your dosing, rule out adherence factors, and discuss whether switching medications or adjusting the protocol makes sense. You can cancel your plan at any time.
Is it safe?
GLP-1 receptor agonists are among the most studied medications in recent medical history. Semaglutide has been studied in trials involving tens of thousands of patients. Common side effects are gastrointestinal (nausea, constipation) and typically resolve with proper dose titration. Your Vitality provider will review your health history to screen for contraindications before approving your prescription.
